Smooth Strobe

[back to FuseBox main page]

Description download
Stretches frames of video and allows the user to specify how many of those 'stretched' frames should be involved in the interpolation (fade) process. Originally developed to help achieve a lenticular effect on rotoscoped footage.
Parameters

Frame Duration:

The hold/stretch factor for each source frame.

i.e. "For how many frames do you want each incoming frame to be held?"

Fade Frames:

Specifies how many of the last held frames to be involved in the fade to the next new frame.

e.g. If the user specifies a hold of 8 frames and a Fade Duration of 3, the frame will be displayed unmodified for 5 frames and then the last three will be involved in a crossfade transition to the next incoming frame.

Sample Spread:

Specifies the incoming frame interval.

e.g. When set to 3, the frames taken from the source clip will typically be 1, 4, 7, 10, etc.
